Fated to My Forbidden Alpha – Chapter 29
The underground chamber was no longer stable.
The seal had fully awakened.
And Selene stood at its center.
Floating.
Her silver eyes fully open.
Not human.
Not wolf.
Something in-between existence itself.
“Selene!” Jackson roared from the edge of the chamber.
But his voice barely reached her.
The space around her was rewriting sound.
Rewriting reality.
Alexander stepped forward, his aura fully released.
“She’s crossing the threshold.”
Ethel’s face was pale.
“No… she’s not crossing it.”
A pause.
“She’s becoming it.”
Inside Selene’s consciousness, everything shattered into white light.
Lyla was still there.
But her voice was fading.
“Selene… don’t lose yourself.”
“I’m not losing myself,” Selene whispered.
But even she could hear the uncertainty.
Because something else was merging into her mind.
The ancient voice.
Calm.
Final.
“You are not losing anything.”
“You are expanding.”
Selene clenched her fists.
“What are you?”
A pause.
Then—
“I am the Bloodwind system.”
Selene froze.
“System…?”
“Yes.”
“And you are the stabilizer.”
Outside—
The seal reacted violently to her hesitation.
Cracks formed across the entire underground structure.
Jackson shouted again.
“Selene, fight it!”
Alexander’s eyes narrowed.
“She’s not fighting it.”
He stepped closer.
“She’s deciding.”
Ethel suddenly spoke.
“If she rejects integration…”
His voice trembled.
“The seal will collapse.”
Silence.
That meant—
Blood Moon Manor would collapse with it.
Selene’s body trembled in mid-air.
Silver energy spiraled faster.
Her memories surged again—
But this time, they weren’t memories.
They were instructions.
A system blueprint buried inside her bloodline.
She gasped.
“This isn’t my past…”
“It’s my design.”
The ancient voice answered calmly.
“Yes.”
Silence.
Selene’s eyes widened.
“…I was created to maintain this?”
A pause.
Then—
“No.”
A heavier answer followed.
“You were created to control it.”
Suddenly—
A violent intrusion shattered the chamber.
BOOM—
The outer wall collapsed.
Warriors rushed in.
But they weren’t Blood Moon.
Their eyes were blackened.
Controlled.
Jackson reacted instantly.
“Enemies!”
Alexander moved at the same time.
But Selene raised her hand slightly.
And everything stopped.
The intruders froze mid-motion.
Not because of fear.
Because the seal itself responded.
Selene was controlling it.
For the first time—
she didn’t just feel the system.
She commanded it.
Lucian’s voice echoed from the darkness above.
“Good.”
He appeared on the upper platform.
Clapping slowly.
“Very good.”
Ethel growled.
“You planned this.”
Lucian didn’t deny it.
“I built this system to awaken under pressure.”
His eyes locked onto Selene.
“And she is performing exactly as designed.”
Jackson snapped.
“She’s not your weapon!”
Lucian smiled faintly.
“No.”
A pause.
“She is the correction.”
Selene’s breathing became unstable again.
“Correction…?”
Lyla suddenly returned, stronger than before.
“Selene, don’t listen to him!”
But the system voice overlapped.
“She is unstable.”
“She requires alignment.”
Selene clutched her head.
“No…”
Alexander stepped forward.
“Selene, look at me.”
She did.
For a brief moment—
humanity flickered in her eyes again.
Alexander continued.
“You are not a system.”
“You are not a correction.”
“You are a person.”
Silence.
That word hit deeper than anything else.
Jackson stepped forward too.
“I don’t care what you were built for.”
His wolf surged violently.
“I care who you are.”
Selene trembled.
Two conflicting pulls.
System.
Human.
Wolf.
Mate bonds.
Bloodline.
Everything collapsing into one point.
Lucian raised his hand.
“The final phase begins.”
The seal beneath Selene erupted again.
Stronger than before.
The entire underground chamber started collapsing inward.
Ethel shouted.
“She’s reaching overload!”
Alexander grabbed Jackson.
“We have to stabilize her NOW!”
But Jackson shook him off.
“No.”
He stepped forward.
“If she is going to choose…”
His voice lowered.
“…she chooses herself.”
Selene looked at him.
Then Alexander.
Then Ethel.
Then Lucian.
And finally—
at the collapsing seal beneath her feet.
Her voice was barely audible.
“I don’t want to be a system.”
Silence.
The system paused.
Waiting.
Selene clenched her fists.
“I want to be me.”
A shockwave exploded outward.
Not destruction.
But rejection.
The seal cracked.
For the first time—
it hesitated.
Lucian’s expression changed slightly.
“…Interesting.”
Ethel whispered.
“She’s resisting integration…”
Alexander narrowed his eyes.
“No.”
He corrected.
“She’s rewriting it.”
Jackson’s wolf roared.
“Selene!”
She lifted her head.
And for the first time—
her silver eyes dimmed slightly.
Not gone.
Balanced.
Controlled.
Selene spoke again.
“I choose control.”
The seal responded instantly.
But this time—
it didn’t consume her.
It stabilized.
Slowly.
Carefully.
Around her choice.
Silence filled the chamber.
Lucian stared at her for a long moment.
Then smiled.
“This is not the end.”
He turned away.
“But now…”
A pause.
“You are finally awake.”
And then he vanished into the collapsing darkness.
Selene landed slowly on the ground.
Exhausted.
But conscious.
Alive.
Lyla whispered softly.
“You did it.”
Selene looked up.
At Jackson.
At Alexander.
At Ethel.
Her voice was quiet.
But steady.
“Now tell me the rest.”
Because she understood something now.
The awakening was not the truth.
It was only the beginning.
