Fated to My Forbidden Alpha – Episode 11

The ballroom’s uneasy silence followed Alpha Ethel through the doors. Warriors bowed and servants cleared a path, but he noticed none of them. His attention fixed on the young woman in a plain gray dress near the center of the room, and something beneath fifteen years of grief pulled painfully awake.

Selene kept her head lowered beneath the guests’ scrutiny, one hand hovering near the wrist Jackson had touched. She looked exactly like what Blood Moon claimed she was—a servant trying to disappear among people of rank. To Ethel, however, the shape of her face struck deeper than reason.

His heart stumbled when she tucked loose hair behind her ear. His daughter had made the same nervous gesture at formal gatherings. Ethel had found echoes of Selene in dozens of young women over the years, but never with such force that his wolf refused to look away.

“Who is that?” he asked. His Beta followed his stare and answered, “The maid?” Ethel whispered no before he understood why. The shade of her eyes and stubborn line of her mouth summoned memories of a laughing child chasing silver moths through Bloodwind’s gardens.

Across the ballroom, Selene sensed him watching. When she turned, she found no contempt, possession, or curiosity in the older Alpha’s face. Only confusion and sorrow so profound that her own chest ached in response.

Lyla could not identify him, yet his presence stirred familiarity unlike either mate bond. It felt quiet, ancient, and rooted in blood. Selene whispered that he seemed familiar, and Ethel’s expression softened as though even the movement of her lips belonged to someone he loved.

Alexander noticed their exchange. Ethel’s shock, Selene’s confusion, and Jackson’s tightening posture formed another pattern around the same woman. He ordered Drake to learn who she was, ignoring the Beta’s reminder that he had crossed half the country without discovering his mate’s name.

Near the stage, Tiffany gripped her wineglass. First Jackson had watched Selene, then Alexander crossed the ballroom for her, and now Ethel stared as though the servant carried the answer to a prayer. Jealousy hardened into fear as powerful attention threatened to make Selene untouchable.

The master of ceremonies called the gathering to order. Jackson climbed the platform with Tiffany on his arm, both wearing practiced smiles while tension stood between them. He praised Blood Moon’s expansion, its allies, and the strong future their engagement represented, presenting control he had spent the entire night losing.

When Jackson welcomed Nightwind, he and Alexander exchanged courteous smiles that fooled no experienced wolf. Alexander knew Jackson had concealed a mate bond. Jackson knew Alexander had recognized Selene. Neither intended to surrender ground before the watching packs.

Selene resumed serving because work gave her somewhere to put her hands. Alexander’s gaze felt warm and searching, Ethel’s wounded and bewildered, and Jackson’s sharp with warning. Their combined attention made the air feel too thin, but Lyla sensed destiny drawing truths together faster than either of them could understand.

A guest stepped backward into Selene’s tray. She twisted to save the glasses, caught her shoe in her dress, and lost her balance. Before she struck the floor, a strong hand closed around her wrist and drew her upright.

Warmth burst through Alexander’s touch—safe, brilliant, and powerful enough to drive every other sensation from Selene’s body. His golden eyes held hers while his wolf roared with certainty. The distant promise had become recognition anchored in her skin: mate.

Lyla cried out at the same instant. The warmth that followed Alexander’s name for days opened through Selene like moonlight flooding a locked room. Unlike Jackson’s bond, burdened by years of secrecy and pain, this connection carried a peace she had never known.

Selene withdrew her hand, frightened by how naturally she had leaned toward him. Alexander’s pulse had quickened, and every protective instinct responded to the silver note of her awakened wolf. Yet the visible mark earlier connected her to Jackson, creating a contradiction no ordinary mate law permitted.

Alexander refused to dismiss either truth. Someone might have manipulated the magic, or Selene’s identity contained a history larger than all three of them. He stepped back rather than using confusion to demand closeness, and the restraint only deepened Lyla’s attention.

Crystal cracked across the room. Jackson’s wineglass shattered inside his fist, spilling blood and red wine over his fingers. He barely felt the cuts while his wolf thundered mine and Alpha power gathered around him.

Alexander calmly released Selene and met Jackson’s glare. No challenge was spoken, but every leader present recognized one beginning. This was not a dispute over land or rank; two dominant wolves were colliding around a woman who had already told them she belonged to neither.

Selene refused to move toward either man. Guests whispered about her as a mystery rather than a person forced into public exposure. When she bent to retrieve a fallen napkin, her sleeve shifted and moonlight touched the crescent-shaped birthmark near her collarbone.

The color drained from Ethel’s face. He had kissed that mark when his daughter was a child, joking that the Moon Goddess had signed her skin. Across the ballroom stood a servant named Selene with his daughter’s age, eyes, and secret birthmark—and the hope he had buried for fifteen years roared back to life.
