“Thank you,” she said into the microphone, her voice steady despite her nerves. “I want to thank everyone who supported me – especially Chloe, who believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. I also want to thank Ethan Hayes for trusting me with his project, and for showing me what it means to work with someone who genuinely appreciates my talent.”
The audience applauded, and Emma could see Ethan wiping a tear from his eye. She smiled, feeling overwhelmed by emotion. This award was more than just recognition for her work – it was proof that she had overcome everything Liam and Sophia had thrown at her.
After the ceremony, Emma and Ethan went to the after-party, where they celebrated with champagne and congratulations from other designers. Emma felt on top of the world, basking in the glow of her victory.
But little did she know, Liam and Sophia were watching from the sidelines.
“She won,” Sophia said, her voice filled with jealousy. “How is that even possible? We tried to destroy her career, and she still won.”
Liam’s expression was dark, his jaw set in anger. “We need to do something. We can’t let her celebrate like this. We need to bring her down, once and for all.”
“I have an idea,” Sophia said, a cruel smile playing on her lips. “We can hack her client database and steal all her work. That way, she’ll have nothing left – no clients, no portfolio, no future.”
Liam nodded, his eyes gleaming. “I know someone who can help with that. A hacker friend who owes me a favor.”
As they plotted, Emma was completely unaware of the danger she was in. She was celebrating her victory, enjoying Ethan’s company, and looking forward to her future. She had no idea that Liam and Sophia were about to launch their most devastating attack yet.
And they were just getting started.
The next morning, Emma woke up to her worst nightmare.
Her phone was blowing up with messages from clients – angry, confused, accusing her of stealing their work. Emma’s heart raced as she opened the messages, trying to understand what was happening.
“What’s going on?” Chloe asked, running into the room. “You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
“I think someone hacked my computer,” Emma said, her hands shaking. “My clients are saying that someone stole their work and is now claiming it as their own.”
Chloe’s face paled. “Liam and Sophia. It has to be them.”
Emma nodded, her stomach twisting. They had tried to destroy her career before, and now they were trying again – this time with much more devastating consequences.
“We need to report this to the police,” Chloe said, grabbing her phone. “And we need to tell Ethan. He might be able to help.”
Emma nodded, tears streaming down her face. This wasn’t just about her career anymore – it was about her livelihood, her future, everything she had worked so hard to build.
And Liam and Sophia weren’t done yet.
