Fated to My Forbidden Alpha – Chapter 26
The explosion from the lower level echoed through the entire Blood Moon Manor.
Selene didn’t hesitate.
She moved.
Not as a servant.
Not as a fragile orphan.
But as Bloodwind.
Silver energy traced faint lines across her skin as she descended the corridor steps alone.
Behind her—
Three Alphas followed.
But none dared to lead.
Jackson was the first to speak.
“You shouldn’t go alone.”
Selene didn’t turn.
“I’ve been alone for fifteen years.”
Alexander’s voice followed immediately.
“This is not a normal intruder.”
Selene paused slightly.
“I know.”
Ethel’s presence was heavier than both Alphas combined.
“This is connected to Lucian.”
At the name—
Selene’s wolf, Lyla, reacted instantly.
A low growl echoed in her mind.
“Selene… be careful.”
“I will.”
But Selene already knew.
Whoever was below…
was not random.
They reached the lower chamber.
The door had been blown open.
Inside, the room was dark.
Destroyed.
And waiting.
A single figure stood in the center.
Clad in black.
Mask covering the face.
No scent fully readable.
But the pressure—
was Alpha-level.
Jackson stepped forward instantly.
“Identify yourself.”
A slow laugh echoed.
Not mocking.
Controlled.
Familiar.
Alexander narrowed his eyes.
“This isn’t Nightwind.”
Ethel’s expression darkened.
“No…”
Selene stepped forward slightly.
The silver glow around her intensified.
“I know you’re here for me.”
Silence.
Then the masked figure tilted their head.
“So the experiment finally woke up.”
The words landed like a blade.
Selene froze.
“Experiment…?”
Lyla suddenly growled violently.
“That voice… I’ve heard it before.”
Selene whispered.
“Who are you?”
The figure didn’t answer immediately.
Instead—
they looked directly at her.
“Bloodwind was never meant to survive.”
Jackson’s wolf erupted instantly.
“Don’t talk to her.”
The pressure in the room spiked.
Alexander moved slightly in front of Selene without thinking.
Jackson noticed immediately.
His eyes darkened.
But neither Alpha attacked.
Because the masked figure wasn’t finished.
“It’s impressive,” they said calmly.
“All three of you are here.”
A pause.
“Jackson Richford.”
Jackson stiffened.
“You know my name?”
The figure chuckled.
“Of course I do.”
Then—
“A rejected mate bond that refuses to break.”
Silence.
Jackson’s aura turned violent.
Alexander’s eyes narrowed sharply.
Ethel stepped forward.
“Lucian sent you.”
A pause.
Then the masked figure tilted their head again.
“Lucian doesn’t send anyone.”
A beat.
“He observes.”
Selene’s heart tightened.
“Lucian Blackthorn…”
The figure’s attention snapped back to her.
“Yes.”
“And he’s very interested in you, Selene.”
Suddenly—
Selene’s chest burned.
Not pain.
Not memory.
But recognition.
Her Bloodwind crest flared violently under her skin.
“No…” she whispered.
“This isn’t just about my past.”
The figure nodded slightly.
“Smart.”
Alexander stepped forward.
“What do you want?”
The masked figure finally turned fully toward him.
“You.”
Then Jackson.
“You.”
Then Ethel.
“And especially you.”
Finally back to Selene.
“Because your existence breaks the seal.”
Silence.
The words didn’t make sense.
But Lyla did something unusual.
She went quiet.
Terrified.
Selene raised her hand slightly.
Silver energy formed around her fingers.
“Tell me the truth.”
The masked figure laughed softly.
“You already know part of it.”
A pause.
“Bloodwind was not destroyed.”
“It was sealed.”
Selene’s breath hitched.
“Sealed…?”
“Yes.”
“And you are the key.”
Jackson stepped forward aggressively.
“That’s enough.”
But Alexander stopped him with one hand.
“Wait.”
Jackson snapped.
“Wait for what?!”
Alexander didn’t look at him.
“Until we understand what she is.”
That sentence hit differently this time.
Because Selene heard it too.
“What I am…”
Her voice lowered.
“…is not just a mate.”
The masked figure nodded.
“Finally.”
Then—
the ground beneath them trembled.
A second pulse echoed from deeper underground.
Not Selene’s power.
Something else.
Older.
Far more dangerous.
The masked figure took a step back.
“It’s waking up.”
Ethel’s eyes widened.
“No… it shouldn’t be active yet.”
Alexander immediately grabbed Selene’s arm.
“We need to leave.”
But Selene didn’t move.
Because for the first time—
she felt it too.
Something calling her from below Blood Moon Manor.
Not a person.
Not a memory.
A sealed force.
And it was responding to her awakening.
Selene looked down into the darkness.
“I’m going down there.”
Jackson grabbed her wrist.
“No.”
Alexander simultaneously said—
“Yes.”
Both Alphas froze.
They looked at each other.
Then back at her.
Selene slowly pulled her arm free.
Her voice was calm.
Final.
“I’m not asking.”
And she stepped into the darkness.
Where the truth beneath Blood Moon was finally opening its eyes.
