Fated to My Forbidden Alpha – Episode 50
Sabine’s voice spread through the rescued vessels and into the wolves helping them. Every connected mind became a possible refuge, forcing healers and warriors to distrust their own thoughts. Selene felt the invasion reach for Lyla, moving along the Anchor fragment implanted when she was three.
She did not close the network. Severing every core would trap Sabine’s victims with her and abandon teams still inside collapsing laboratories. Instead, Selene asked governance to distinguish between chosen speech and commands imposed through stolen memory.
The system could not perform that judgment alone. It had records of brain activity, magical signatures, and historical behavior, but none could define a person more accurately than the person living the moment. Selene sent one question through every channel: Do you consent to the thought speaking as you?
Answers returned unevenly. Some vessels could form clear refusals, while others communicated through images, panic, or a single remembered name. Governance initially rejected those responses as incomplete. Neris forced it to recognize refusal in every form that expressed resistance.
Sabine lost her easiest hosts. Wolves coughed silver mist as foreign fragments left their minds, and the rescued vessels regained control of their voices. Still, thousands of older network users remained unaware of the invasion and could not knowingly reject it.
Alexander contacted Drake through the weakened channel and ordered Nightwind bells rung in the emergency pattern. Jackson gave Luke the same instruction for Blood Moon. Across both territories, messengers explained the threat aloud so even wolves without core access could name the presence inside them and refuse it.
Ethel activated Bloodwind’s surviving beacons. Their light carried Elara’s voice to scattered survivors who had distrusted every summons since the massacre. She did not ask them to trust the system; she asked them to trust their right to reject anyone speaking through their minds.
The combined refusals struck Sabine like a storm. Her voice fractured across the vault, changing age and tone as stolen fragments separated. Moonlight returned around the black disk above, but the darkness at its center continued widening, fed by a deeper channel that none of the awakened local cores recognized.
Lucian laughed inside his restraint chamber. Sabine’s consciousness had distributed too far to defend the root path beneath her preserved body. He drove black thorns through his own wrists, using pain to disguise his signature, and reached the Genesis controls before Elara noticed.
Tiffany saw him moving through the personal key burned into her former ring. Jackson had placed her under guard, yet the possession crisis had drawn the warriors away. She could run, help Lucian, or warn the people who still intended to judge her.
She slammed her injured hand onto the alarm rune. The action reopened black-thorn scars along her arm and gave Selene enough warning to seal the root controls. Tiffany collapsed beside the gate, muttering that she expected a fair trial, not forgiveness.
Lucian triggered the stolen fragments anyway. The restraint glass shattered, freeing him into a chamber filled with enemies. Ethel attacked first, but Lucian redirected Sabine’s remaining consciousness into his body and met the Alpha with strength drawn from a thousand stolen wolves.
Alexander and Jackson joined the fight without their old claim magic. Their quieter connections to Selene carried no commands, yet coordination moved between them more cleanly than forced rivalry ever had. Alexander broke Lucian’s defensive pattern, and Jackson drove him away from the core.
Elara faced Sabine inside governance while Selene and Neris protected the waking vessels. The former mentor offered to restore every year Elara lost if she resumed their work. Elara answered by releasing her private architect key, surrendering permanent access so Sabine could never use it through her again.
Age struck Sabine’s remaining projection all at once. Her young face weathered through decades while stolen memories returned to their owners. “You would destroy humanity’s only perfect safeguard for the illusion of choice,” she accused.
Selene looked across people waking frightened, injured, and finally themselves. “A safeguard that requires stealing the protected person is only another threat.” She joined Neris’s stabilizing power to the millions of individual refusals and removed Sabine from current governance.
The Second Architect screamed as the network expelled her. Silver light poured from wolves across every territory and gathered above the Genesis Vault. For a breath, it formed the outline of a vast woman against the darkened moon before breaking into harmless sparks.
Lucian used the distraction to seize Sabine’s exposed root key. Jackson caught his shoulder, but black light consumed the architect before Alexander could close the last route. This time the escape carried no external signature; Lucian had taken control of the path himself.
The vault began collapsing. Selene led the vessels through local exits while the two Alphas held the stone passage and Ethel carried the weakened Elara. Neris emerged last with Sabine’s archive, preserving the names of every laboratory and victim rather than the power used to imprison them.
They reached the ruined sanctuary as the underground core sealed itself. Dawn should have broken above Bloodwind, yet the moon remained suspended in a black sky. Lyla suddenly vanished from Selene’s consciousness, leaving an unbearable emptiness behind, and Lucian’s voice rolled from the dark lunar disk: “Sabine built the network around the First Wolf. I have just awakened her—and she remembers your body as her own.”
