Chapter 24 – The War of Two Curses
The sky above the shattered Temple of the First Moon was no longer natural.
It had turned silver-black—split between moonlight and corruption.
Wren stood at the center of the ruins, her body no longer unstable… but evolving.
Her wolf form flickered beside her like a living shadow of lunar energy, perfectly synchronized with her human body.
Not switching.
Not collapsing.
But coexisting.
And Hunter stood beside her.
His cursed Alpha aura had changed too.
Black flames now carried threads of silver light.
The two forces—once incompatible—were now entangled.
The Awakening Form
Wren lifted her hand.
The air responded.
Silver energy spiraled upward, forming the outline of a massive wolf behind her.
But this time—
Hunter’s cursed energy mirrored it.
A shadow wolf of darkness formed behind him.
Two beasts.
Two forces.
One bond.
Beta Clay whispered in shock, “This isn’t a mate bond anymore… it’s a fusion state.”
Hunter didn’t answer.
His eyes never left Wren.
“We are synchronized,” he said quietly.
Gertrude’s Counterattack Begins
Far away, inside a blood-drenched ritual chamber, Gertrude Wolfhart slammed her staff into the ground.
Runes ignited around her.
“You were never meant to stabilize!” she screamed.
The ground beneath her cracked open, revealing ancient cursed seals tied directly to Wren’s childhood.
“This bond… this awakening… it shouldn’t exist!”
She raised her hands.
And activated the forbidden ritual.
The Curse Strikes Back
Inside the temple ruins, Wren suddenly collapsed.
A violent black surge erupted inside her body.
Hunter immediately caught her.
“Wren!”
Her wolf form distorted—silver light flickering violently against the invading darkness.
The curse inside her was reacting.
Fighting back.
Trying to reclaim control.
Wren gasped silently as memories shattered again—
Gertrude carving runes into her skin.
Elders chanting under a blood moon.
A voice repeating:
“If she awakens fully, she will destroy the balance of all packs.”
Hunter’s Decision – Stage Two Awakening
Hunter’s expression darkened completely.
For the first time, he stopped resisting his curse.
Instead—
He embraced it.
Black flames erupted across his body, forming armor-like energy.
His Alpha form shifted.
Stronger.
More unstable.
More dangerous.
“I won’t let her be taken,” he said coldly.
He pressed his hand against Wren’s chest.
And forced his cursed energy into her system again.
Not to suppress her.
But to anchor her.
The Dual Stabilization
Wren’s body jolted.
The clash between silver and black intensified.
But this time—
It didn’t break her.
It balanced her.
Her wolf form solidified.
Fully visible now.
No longer flickering.
No longer incomplete.
A true lunar wolf stood beside Hunter’s shadow beast.
The bond stabilized again—but deeper than before.
More permanent.
More dangerous.
The Prophecy Revealed
A voice echoed from the collapsing temple core.
“Two curses… one union…”
“The balance breaker has been born.”
Wren’s eyes slowly lifted.
For the first time, she understood:
She wasn’t just cursed.
She wasn’t just chosen.
She was the center of a prophecy designed to rewrite Alpha hierarchy itself.
Hunter stepped beside her.
“Let them come,” he said quietly.
“If the world wants to erase you…”
“I’ll burn it first.”
Far Away – Fear Begins
Gertrude froze mid-ritual.
Because for the first time…
She felt it.
Control slipping.
Wren was no longer her pawn.
And Hunter was no longer a barrier.
They were becoming something else entirely.
Something irreversible.
