Pregnant and Spoiled by the Billionaire – Episode 7
Jason dragged Amelia into the hallway before the drug could steal the last of her strength. The pounding music faded behind a closing door, replaced by the terrible quiet of a private corridor. He tightened his grip on her arm and smiled. “Come on, gorgeous. I’ll show you a night you’ll never forget.”
The words cleared Amelia’s mind more effectively than cold water. She twisted against him, but her legs felt unsteady and her vision blurred at the edges. “Get your hands off me!” she shouted, hoping someone on the other side of the door would hear.
Jason shoved her against the wall. “I paid a lot of money for you,” he said, as if the transaction with Bethany had erased Amelia’s right to refuse. “You’re mine tonight.” Rage rose through her fear. Whatever Bethany had promised him, Amelia had promised nothing.
She drove her knee upward, but the drug slowed her and Jason turned in time. His hand clamped over her wrist. Amelia reacted on instinct, sinking her teeth into the flesh between his thumb and forefinger until he yelled and released her.
“You bitch!” Jason stared at the crescent marks on his hand. “Did you just bite me?” Amelia did not wait for the answer. She stumbled down the corridor, one palm sliding along the wall to keep herself upright while he cursed behind her.
The door at the end opened into the main bar. Light and sound crashed over Amelia as she forced herself into the crowd. She had never been so relieved to see strangers. If she could reach security or borrow a phone, Jason would not be able to drag her away unseen.
“Oh, you are so dead tonight!” he shouted. His hand caught the back of her arm before she had crossed half the room. Several people looked over, then quickly looked away when they recognized Jason Wallis and the fury on his face.
Amelia saw a woman holding a phone near the bar and lunged toward her. “Please help me,” she begged. “Call 911.” The woman stared at Amelia’s disheveled clothes and Jason’s grip, horror replacing confusion. For one hopeful second, Amelia believed another person had finally understood the danger. “Oh my God. Yes—okay,” the woman said, fumbling to unlock the screen.
Jason reached her first. He snatched the phone and hurled it to the floor, shattering the screen beneath his shoe. “Mind your own business,” he warned. “Otherwise, you’ll end up just like your phone.” His confidence came from years of using his family’s name as armor.
The woman paled. “Mr. Wallis, I’m so sorry,” she stammered. Fear defeated the impulse to help. She backed away, apologizing again as though Jason were the injured party, and disappeared into the crowd.
“No, wait!” Amelia reached toward her, but Jason jerked her backward. The betrayal hurt even though the woman was a stranger. Everyone could see what was happening, yet money and influence had made Jason untouchable enough that no one dared intervene.
“Please help me!” Amelia cried again. Her voice broke above the music. She clawed at Jason’s hand, but the drug had left her weak, and each attempt to pull free made the room spin faster.
Leo heard the plea from the other side of the bar. He had been searching for Amelia since she vanished with Bethany, his concern growing with every empty room. The sound of her frightened voice brought every instinct in him to a brutal focus.
Derek followed as Leo pushed through the crowd. People moved aside at the expression on his face. When he saw Jason hauling Amelia toward the private hall, her skin flushed and her movements unnaturally slow, Leo understood enough to feel cold fury settle beneath his ribs.
“Let me go!” Amelia cried. Jason leaned close to her ear, his voice vicious. “Listen, bitch, I paid five thousand dollars for you, and I’m going to get what I want.” He began dragging her away again, certain the room would continue pretending not to see.
Amelia’s heel caught on the carpet and she nearly fell. Through the haze, she saw a tall figure approaching and struggled to focus. The dark suit, controlled stride, and familiar face seemed impossible in the middle of her nightmare.
Leo caught Amelia before she hit the floor, pulling her free with one arm while forcing Jason back with the other. Relief weakened what remained of her resistance. “Mr. Preston?” she whispered, clinging to his jacket as though it were the only solid thing in the room.
Jason recovered from the surprise and reached for her again. Leo shifted Amelia behind him, placing his body between them. Derek moved to Leo’s side, his earlier humor gone as he took in Amelia’s condition and Jason’s wounded hand.
“She’s not going anywhere,” Jason snarled. He expected the stranger to retreat once he revealed who owned the bar, the company, and the power behind his threats. Instead, Leo’s expression grew more dangerous with every word.
Amelia pressed a hand to her spinning head and looked up at Leo. The billionaire she had once chased for an interview now stood between her and the man who believed he had purchased her. Jason stepped forward to reclaim what he called his, but Leo did not move—and the entire bar seemed to hold its breath before the collision.
