Ms. CEO’s Baby Daddy Is the Merchant of Death – Episode 10

“Help.” The word came through Summer’s watch as little more than breath. Connor demanded to know where she was, but his daughter could only repeat his name before the connection broke apart. Silence filled the command room, colder than any threat Connor had faced. Somewhere, his child was suffocating while he stood miles away.

He turned on Cypher with controlled violence. The call had to be traced regardless of cost, law, or technical barrier. Every satellite, relay, and hidden system Dominion Tech possessed was now focused on a colorful children’s watch. Connor did not care what they destroyed to find it.

Coordinates began assembling across the central screen. Connor armed himself while technicians narrowed the signal toward the Hayes estate. His trucker disguise no longer mattered; neither did secrecy. The people responsible were about to learn whose daughter they had touched.

At the estate, Scarlett knelt before Stephen and begged him to release Summer. Her daughter was not breathing properly, and an asthma attack could become fatal within minutes. The inhaler lay beyond Scarlett’s reach. Every second her family delayed was a deliberate gamble with a child’s life.

Danielle gazed down at her with cruel satisfaction. Only moments earlier, Scarlett had slapped her; now the proud executive was pleading at her feet. Danielle demanded that Scarlett beg properly. Revenge transformed her smile into something vicious.

Scarlett swallowed every shred of pride. She apologized and begged Danielle to return the inhaler. Nothing mattered except the faint wheezing behind the locked door. If humiliation purchased one breath for Summer, Scarlett would endure an entire lifetime of it.

Danielle refused anyway. She told Scarlett it was too late and suggested that next time she remember her place. Stephen watched without intervening, proving that his earlier demands had never been about discipline. They wanted surrender, and Summer was the weapon they had chosen.

Scarlett turned to her father once more. Stephen offered a bargain of his own: she could save the child only after accepting the punishment for defying him in his house. Scarlett knew the answer before he gave it. Ten strikes.

He ordered her to straighten her spine. Scarlett rose and braced herself, eyes fixed on the locked room. She accepted the punishment without argument, each blow sending pain through her body. She counted only the weakening sounds of Summer’s breathing.

When the final strike fell, Scarlett demanded that Stephen keep his word. He did not. Danielle complained that Scarlett still had not learned anything because she immediately returned to worrying about the little brat. Stephen agreed that Summer should remain locked away.

The betrayal destroyed Scarlett’s last hope that they possessed any human decency. She called them monsters and swore that if Summer died, she would drag the entire family down with her. Stephen responded with one final condition. Scarlett had to throw her daughter out of her life, and then he might allow the child to live.

“Never,” Scarlett said. Pain bent her body, but her answer did not waver. They would never take Summer away from her. She had protected that child alone for four years and would die before surrendering her now.

She lunged for the locked door. Danielle screamed for Stephen to stop her while Scarlett clawed at anyone blocking the way. A key flashed in someone’s hand, and Scarlett fought toward it with the desperation of a mother who could no longer hear her child clearly. Polished furniture crashed as the family struggle erupted into chaos.

“Summer, baby, I’m going to get you out,” she shouted through the door. There was no answer. Terror gave Scarlett new strength, and she demanded the key with a fury that startled even Stephen. For one instant, she nearly tore it free.

Danielle recoiled and cried that Scarlett was going crazy. She urged her father to do something before the “feral” woman reached the room. Stephen seized Scarlett from behind and hurled her away. She hit the floor, then dragged herself upright again.

Stephen raised his hand and threatened to kill her. The words exposed the truth beneath years of family control: blood meant nothing to him when obedience was at stake. Scarlett faced him anyway. If death was the price of reaching Summer, she would pay it.

Outside the estate, black vehicles breached the gates before security could respond. Connor stepped from the lead car while his operatives disarmed the guards with swift precision. Cypher confirmed that the watch signal came from inside the house. Connor heard no further transmission from Summer.

Every missed birthday and unanswered question drove him through the entrance. He had spent years convincing himself that attachments created weakness, but fatherhood had made him more dangerous than he had ever been. The Hayes family believed they were tormenting an unwanted child. In reality, they had summoned the Merchant of Death to their door.

Inside, Scarlett heard the crash of the front entrance giving way. Stephen and Danielle turned toward the sound, momentarily distracted. Heavy footsteps crossed the hall with terrifying purpose. The household staff scattered before the armed strangers flooding the estate.

Connor appeared in the doorway, his expression stripped of every trace of the easygoing truck driver Scarlett knew. Power and violence followed him into the room, silencing Stephen before he could demand an explanation. Connor’s eyes found his injured wife, then the locked door beyond her, and his voice fell to a deadly calm. “Where’s my daughter?”
