The Alpha Queen Returns – Chapter 1
The scent of herbs and medicine filled the small clinic tucked away on the edge of the wolf territories. To anyone passing by, it looked like an ordinary healer’s hut. No guards. No banners. No throne.
Exactly the way Jessica wanted it.
Once, she had been Queen Jessica—the Alpha Queen feared across the land, the warrior who united rival packs and ended countless wars. But that life belonged to the past. After years of bloodshed and endless battles, she had abandoned the throne and disappeared from the public eye.
Now she healed wounds instead of causing them.
“Don’t worry,” Jessica said gently as she handed a patient a small pouch of medicine. “I’ve got your prescription. You’ll be fine.”
The patient thanked her and stepped aside.
“Treat me first!”
The clinic door slammed open.
A large wolf shifter strode inside, shoving past everyone waiting patiently in line. His uniform marked him as a guard of the Great Wolf Council.
Jessica didn’t even look impressed.
“There’s a line,” she said calmly.
The guard sneered.
“Don’t you know who I am? Move.”
When nobody obeyed, he violently shoved people aside until the waiting line scattered.
“See?” he laughed. “Now there’s no line.”
The room fell silent.
Jessica sighed. Some things never changed.
The guard dropped into a chair and exposed an ugly wound on his arm.
Jessica examined it briefly before reaching for a vial.
“It’s wolfsbane poisoning.”
The guard rolled his eyes.
“Just heal it.”
“This will hurt.”
The antidote touched the wound.
“Fuck!”
The guard nearly jumped out of his seat.
“Are you healing me or trying to kill me?”
Jessica remained unfazed.
“I’m saving your life. Your wound is filled with wolfsbane. Without treatment, you’ll be dead within three moon cycles.”
The guard burst into mocking laughter.
“Ridiculous. You’re just a lousy healer.”
His expression darkened.
“I’m a Great Wolf Council Guard. If it wasn’t an emergency, I wouldn’t even let your filthy paws touch me.”
Jessica slowly raised an eyebrow.
“A Great Wolf Council Guard?”
The title meant nothing to her.
“So Sarabeth is your commanding officer.”
The guard instantly stood.
“How dare you speak General Sarabeth’s name so casually!”
His aura flared with anger.
“I’m going to teach you a lesson.”
The patients backed away nervously as he stepped toward Jessica.
But Jessica simply folded her arms.
“Even Sarabeth bows to me,” she said. “Why would I fear a low-ranking guard?”
The man stared at her as if she were insane.
“Delusional.”
Everyone knew General Sarabeth.
She was one of the most respected military leaders in the kingdom, a legendary warrior whose victories were celebrated across the land.
And this healer claimed Sarabeth bowed to her?
Impossible.
“You’re a nobody,” the guard spat.
Jessica smiled faintly.
“Then explain why she’s arriving at my clinic right now.”
A distant convoy of military vehicles appeared outside.
The guard frowned.
Moments later, soldiers flooded the area, securing every entrance.
The room instantly grew tense.
Then she appeared.
General Sarabeth.
Tall, powerful, and commanding, Sarabeth stepped through the doorway with several elite officers behind her.
The arrogant guard immediately rushed forward.
“General Sarabeth! You’re just in time!”
He pointed directly at Jessica.
“This stupid woman attacked me and insulted you!”
The room held its breath.
Everyone expected Sarabeth to punish the healer.
Instead, the general’s face turned cold.
Her eyes locked onto the guard.
“You insolent fool.”
The guard froze.
Before he could react, Sarabeth turned toward Jessica.
Then, to the shock of everyone present, the legendary general dropped to one knee.
Her officers followed immediately.
The entire clinic fell silent.
Sarabeth lowered her head.
“I apologize, My Queen.”
The guard’s face turned white.
His mouth opened and closed soundlessly.
“My… Queen?”
Jessica looked down at the kneeling general.
The peaceful life she had built was about to end.
Because Sarabeth hadn’t come to visit.
She had come with a warning.
Rogue wolf attacks were spreading across the kingdom.
And the realm needed its Alpha Queen once again.
