I Have Five Kick-Ass Brothers – Chapter 2
Raina stood outside the Smith mansion with a single suitcase in her hand.
The cold wind brushed against her face, but it wasn’t nearly as painful as the rejection she had just suffered.
Twenty years.
Twenty years of birthdays, family dinners, and laughter.
Gone in an instant.
The moment the DNA results came back, the Smiths had discarded her like she was nothing.
“Don’t waste your breath on her.”
“And take your stuff and get out of our house.”
The cruel words echoed in her ears.
A bitter smile formed on her lips.
“So that’s it,” she whispered. “Twenty years meant nothing to them.”
The Smith family had offered to send a butler to escort her to the Lincolns—her biological family.
She refused.
If she was going to start over, she’d do it herself.
But before leaving, she couldn’t stop herself from glaring toward the mansion one last time.
“Coco stole twenty years of my life,” she muttered. “Everything that should have been mine.”
What Raina didn’t know was that the Smiths weren’t the only people paying attention to the DNA test.
Across town, an elderly man sat in a luxurious hospital suite.
Mr. Jones.
One of the wealthiest and most influential men in Brookfield City.
His assistant hurried into the room.
“Mr. Jones, we’ve finally found the girl who saved your life.”
The old man’s eyes widened.
“Who is she?”
“The daughter of the Smith family.”
A rare smile appeared on his face.
“Then it’s time I paid the Smiths a visit.”
Years ago, a young girl had risked everything to save him during a terrible accident. He had searched for her ever since, hoping to repay the debt.
Little did he know, a misunderstanding had hidden the truth for years.
Meanwhile, Raina arrived at a modest neighborhood far removed from the luxury she was used to.
She stared at the small house before her.
This was it.
The home of her biological parents.
The Lincoln family.
Taking a deep breath, she knocked on the door.
A middle-aged woman opened it and froze.
For a brief second, panic flashed across her face.
Raina forced a smile.
“Hi. I’m Raina Smith.”
She paused awkwardly.
“I mean… Raina Lincoln.”
The woman and the man standing behind her exchanged a strange look.
Neither rushed forward to hug her.
Neither looked happy to see her.
Instead, they seemed nervous.
Almost frightened.
Finally, the woman spoke.
“Are you… the girl from the Smith family?”
Raina’s smile slowly faded.
Something wasn’t right.
These people had just discovered their long-lost daughter.
So why did they look like they were hiding a secret?
