The Alpha Queen Returns – Chapter 3
The cold stone floor scraped against Caroline’s hands as she knelt in the center of the Russo mansion.
A bucket of dirty water sat beside her.
Servants walked past without sparing her a glance.
To everyone in the pack, she wasn’t a princess.
She was just the unwanted girl living under the Russo family’s roof.
Caroline quietly scrubbed the floor, trying her best to ignore the laughter echoing behind her.
“What did I do?” she finally asked, her voice trembling.
She looked up at Reva Russo, the Alpha’s spoiled daughter.
“Why are you always so mean to me?”
Reva burst out laughing.
“Because I can.”
She crossed her arms proudly.
“I’m the daughter of Alpha Russo.”
Then her eyes filled with contempt.
“And you’re the bastard daughter of some worthless peasant healer who lives in the woods.”
Caroline lowered her head.
The insults hurt, but she had heard them countless times before.
Reva wasn’t finished.
“You don’t even have a wolf.”
The other girls around her giggled.
“You’re just a useless omega.”
Caroline bit her lip.
At her age, most wolf shifters had already begun feeling signs of their inner wolf awakening.
But Caroline hadn’t.
It was one of the reasons the Russo family treated her as inferior.
Reva stepped closer and grabbed a handful of Caroline’s hair.
“Remember your place.”
Her voice dripped with cruelty.
“You’re nothing but a slave in this pack.”
Caroline winced but remained silent.
Then Reva leaned down and whispered into her ear.
“If you want to keep your mother safe, you’ll obey us.”
The words instantly froze Caroline.
Her mother.
Jessica.
The only person she truly loved.
Reva knew exactly where to strike.
“Now clean the floor.”
Caroline glanced at the mop.
Reva kicked it away.
“No.”
A cruel smile spread across her face.
“Get on your knees and clean it with your hands.”
The other girls laughed.
Caroline slowly lowered herself back down and obeyed.
Every movement felt humiliating.
But if enduring this meant protecting her mother, she would bear it.
As she scrubbed, tears threatened to spill from her eyes.
Reva noticed.
“Stop pretending to be pitiful!”
Caroline froze.
The next words cut deeper than anything before.
“You’re just a shameless slut like your mommy.”
Caroline’s head snapped up.
Reva continued viciously.
“If your mother hadn’t seduced Ambassador Ansel and slept with him, my family never would’ve agreed to take in a worthless brat like you.”
The girls nearby nodded eagerly.
“That’s right.”
“Even Ambassador Ansel said it was an honor for us to take you in.”
Caroline’s heart pounded.
“No.”
She stood up.
“No, that’s not true.”
The room fell silent.
For the first time, Caroline looked directly at Reva.
“My mother would never do that.”
Reva blinked in surprise.
Then her expression darkened.
“What did you say?”
“You can insult me all you want,” Caroline said, tears filling her eyes.
“But don’t talk about my mom like that.”
The room went completely quiet.
Nobody had ever dared speak back to Reva.
Not even servants.
Reva’s face twisted with rage.
“How dare you talk back to me!”
She lunged forward, intending to slap Caroline.
But in her fury, she moved too quickly.
Her foot caught on a loose rug.
“Ah!”
Reva stumbled.
Then crashed hard onto the stone floor.
A sharp crack echoed through the hallway.
For a moment, everyone stared.
Blood slowly trickled from a cut on Reva’s forehead.
Caroline’s eyes widened.
“Reva!”
She instinctively reached forward.
“Are you okay?”
Reva touched the blood and immediately shrieked.
“You stupid bitch!”
The accusation came instantly.
“It’s all your fault!”
“What?” Caroline gasped.
“You pushed me!”
“I didn’t!”
Tears filled Caroline’s eyes.
“You tripped on your own!”
But nobody was listening.
The other girls rushed to Reva’s side.
“Oh no!”
“She’s bleeding!”
Reva pointed at Caroline dramatically.
“She attacked me!”
Caroline felt panic rise in her chest.
“That’s not true!”
“My mom is going to punish you when she gets back!”
Reva screamed.
Then, seeing Caroline still trying to explain herself, she completely lost control.
“This is all your fault!”
Her eyes blazed with hatred.
“I’ll kill you right now!”
Reva grabbed a nearby decorative vase and charged.
“Mom! Save me!” Caroline cried instinctively.
Hidden several yards away, Mina watched everything unfold through a recording crystal.
Every insult.
Every threat.
Every act of bullying.
Her expression darkened with every passing second.
The princess wasn’t living a peaceful life.
She was being abused.
Humiliated.
Treated worse than a servant.
Without hesitation, Mina transmitted the recording directly to General Sarabeth.
As the crystal message disappeared into the sky, her eyes turned icy.
The truth was finally on its way to Queen Jessica.
And when the Alpha Queen learned how her daughter had been treated…
The entire Russo family would wish they had never crossed her path.
